Create a quick image border with a canvas extension

I have a few digital photos that I need to add a 10-pixel black border around. Is there a quick way to do this?

The easiest way to add a 10-pixel border around an image is to extend the canvas by 10 pixels on each side and designate the appropriate color to fill the canvas extension.

To add a 10-pixel border by extending the canvas:
 

  1. Open an image to which you want to add a border.
  2. Choose Image > Canvas Size to display the Canvas Size dialog box.
  3. Choose Pixels from the Width and Height pop-up menus, as shown in Figure A.
