Apply a fill color and preserve transparency (CS/CS2/CS3/CS4)

When filling an object with color, you can select the object and then choose Edit > Fill, or you can accomplish this task more quickly with keyboard shortcuts.

 

Here are two shortcuts that will enable you to fill any object or layer with the color of your choice. First, you’ll need to set the foreground or background color to the color you desire. Then, with the object or layer selected:
