Tired of redrawing paths? Save your Work Paths and save time (Photoshop CS/CS2)

Added on Thursday 4th of June 2009 09:23 am EST

Whenever you draw a new path using a tool such as the Pen tool or one of the Shape tools such as the Rectangle tool , the path appears in the Paths palette as a temporary Work Path, as shown in Figure A. If you deselect this Work Path and start drawing another path or section, the first path will be lost. If you want to keep a Work Path while you draw others, you can save your Work Path first and then create new paths without losing your original. To save a Work Path, simply drag its icon to the Create New Path button at the bottom of the Paths palette. Once you've done that, get in the practice of immediately naming the new path, so you can find it. Once you start saving paths, they can add up quick!
