Add interest to ordinary group shots: Try a different viewpoint

If you’re looking for a way to add interest to the same-ol’ same-ol’ straight-on group shot you’ve taken dozens of times, try a different approach. With a simple shift of your viewpoint, you can add interest and even drama to an otherwise conventional image. You may want to kneel for a low-angle view, or shoot from above for a high-angle approach if a balcony or staircase is available, as shown in Figure A. Either way, your final result will be anything but ordinary.
