Photoshop CS3 is on the horizon: Are you ready?

Added on Friday 27th of April 2007 01:39 am EST

Application:

Adobe Photoshop CS3

Operating Systems:

Macintosh, Microsoft Windows

Adobe created quite a buzz when they released the CS3 beta to the public for the first time in December 2006. With the final product coming soon, you not only need to ask yourself if you’re ready, but more importantly, is your computer?

To see if you’re a candidate for the CS3 upgrade, we’ll:

Show you where to download the Photoshop CS3 Beta so you can try it out for yourself.

Outline the hardware and software specs you’ll need to run Photoshop CS3.

Point out some of the hot new features and changes to CS3 for a taste of what’s to come.

The announcement of a new software upgrade brings out the excitement in some, and dread in others. For those who have the resources to stay on top of technology, a new upgrade shoots adrenaline up your spine. You’ve probably already downloaded and tested the new Photoshop CS3 beta and participated in online discussions. But, if your company tends to avoid upgrades because “everything works fine the way it is” or perhaps you don’t know if your current system can handle it, we’ll bring you up to snuff and help you make sense of the details.

Adobe did what?

This is the very first time Adobe released a beta version of Photoshop to the public to preview and test. If you haven’t already checked it out, you can download the Photoshop CS3 beta at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs3/.

Who can use it?

Available for both Macintosh and Windows platforms, it’s important to note that the Photoshop CS3 beta release is Universal Binary and runs natively on Apple’s Intel-based Macs, as well as Power PCs, Windows XP, and Vista. See Table A for the CS3 beta minimum system requirements. At press time, the details for final system requirements have not been released.
