The trick to saving a JPEG after Lab Color mode alterations

Added on Monday 22nd of October 2007 11:30 pm EST

Application:

Adobe Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3

Operating Systems:

Macintosh, Microsoft Windows

In the Volume 11 Number 6 issue of Inside Photoshop, the High Pass Filter for sharpening in Lab Color mode is explained very well. It works, but I can’t save the resulting file as a JPEG. Am I missing something, or is that the nature of the beast?

Thank You,

Joseph Bonta

Thanks for writing in, Joseph. In the article “Take High Pass sharpening into the lab” in the Volume 11 Number 6 issue of Inside Photoshop, we explained how to take advantage of Lab Color mode when using the High Pass filter. However, we didn’t explain file saving because that’s a whole separate topic.
