Outsmart Smart Object limitations with this workaround

I have an image with a Smart Object layer that I’ve added a mask to. Unfortunately, when I move the Smart Object layer, the mask doesn’t move with it. Is there a way I can link the mask to the Smart Object layer?

Yes, there is. But, as you’ve discovered, Smart Objects don’t support linked layer masks. So here’s the workaround: Once you have your Smart Object in place, create a new group for the Smart Object layer and apply the layer mask to the group.
               If you already created the layer mask, it’s easy to transfer it from the Smart Object to the group.
