The way in which Windows and Mac operating systems handle software installation and removal couldn’t be more different, but the requirements are the same. Whether you’re running on a Windows or Mac platform, it’s essential that you add and remove your software correctly. Generally, the manufacturer outlines the proper method for both installation and removal. We’ll share with you Adobe’s instructions for properly installing and maintaining InDesign CS3.


Deactivate CS3 trials and betas
Before you install the full shipping version of InDesign CS3, you should uninstall any beta or trial versions of the software that exist on your computer. Before you do that, however, you must first deactivate the software.

To deactivate a trial or beta version of InDesign CS3:
1. Choose Help > Deactivate.
