Intensify the Clouds filter with this trick (CS/CS2/CS3/CS4)

While the Photoshop Clouds filter isn’t the best choice for rendering clouds, it’s very useful as a springboard for many different artistic techniques. Simply choose Filter > Render > Clouds to fill the layer with a random cloud pattern using your foreground and background colors, as shown in Figure A. But here’s a little tip: To intensify the effect a bit by adding more contrast, press and hold [option] ([Alt] in Windows) as you select the filter, for results similar to Figure B.
