Create eye-catching web animations using blends in a Flash!

When trying to prepare your files for web, you always face time constraints that keep you from doing your best work. Anything that can help you quickly create web graphics is quite useful. When time is of the essence (which it always is), it’s good to know that you can convert your graphics into Flash animations right in Illustrator. With the use of blend options, as well as the Release To Layers feature, you can create web animations that are ready to export to Flash.


Blend it
To begin our tutorial, we’ll morph the sun into the moon using the Blend tool, as shown in FIGURE A. To use our images, download the file BLEND.ZIP from the URL given at the beginning of this article.

(Our images are shown in FIGURE B.) With this file, we’ll create a series of blended shapes by specifying the number of steps in the Blend Options dialog box and by using the Blend tool. Now, let’s open the file, SUN.AI in Illustrator and get started.
